The bald eagle is America’s most recognizable symbol of independence and freedom. Once near extinction, human efforts have helped this valuable creature make an amazing comeback. Awareness of the bald eagle is extremely important, as they not only have an important role in our ecosystem, but in the US  heritage and culture as well.

Did you know that their bodies can be 3 feet (1 meter) long and their wingspan can be 8 feet (2.4 meters) across? That’s about the distance from the floor to the ceiling! Also, they can spot fish from a mile away. What an effective hunter!

In honor of this epic creature, AJHQ suggests this National Geographic Creature Feature.

We also invite you to swing by the museum and get your own epic Eagle hat to wear while watching ALL the videos in Jamaa.
